2 more Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) are open in Nassau County to provide one-on-one assistance for survivors of Hurricane Sandy.
Specialists from the state of New York, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) are on hand to answer questions and provide information on the types of help available to storm survivors.
The recovery centers are one-stop shops where eligible survivors can get assistance as quickly as possible. However, visiting with a recovery specialist is not necessary for disaster survivors who need help.
DRCs are open seven days a week until further notice. The new locations in Nassau County are:

Federal and state officials work closely with community leaders to find DRC locations that provide safe and easy access for all survivors. More centers will open as sites are identified and approved.
Visiting a DRC is not the only way for Hurricane Sandy survivors to seek help.
Individuals can register online at www.disasterassistance.gov or via web-enabled phone at m.fema.gov. Applicants may also call 1-800-621-3362 or (TTY) 1-800-462-7585. Those who use 711-Relay or Video Relay Services (VRS) should call 1-800-621-3362. The toll-free telephone numbers operate from 7 a.m.to 10 p.m. EDT seven days a week until further notice.
